Today I want to revisit some “free” offerings that in the past you might have overlooked, perhaps in the belief that the latest much hyped, new fangled super tipster or system must offer a much better chance of producing you a profit.
The truth is that whilst you certainly can pay for betting advice and get value for money doing so, there often isn’t any real difference in quality of the information, if you are diligent and you look around enough.
So the theme of this post is simple – what systems or tips can you follow, that are likely to show a decent profit, without spending a penny to get the information?
Well of course you can get free tips everywhere, from newspapers to websites and blogs. But for the most part you are forced to assume that because this person writes, blogs or tips for a newspaper, betting website or the like, that they know what they are talking about, but unfortunately this isn’t the case, not least where when turning a profit is your aim. I always say if there’s no previous results history shown, its safe to assume that over the long term the particular source in question is making an unhealthy loss. Therefore tips without any track record or proof of performance aren’t worthy of your attention.
So without further ado here are my top sources for free racing tips.
BPB Forum (My forum)
The Punters Sire, free system and selections posted daily.
This is a remarkably simple system, that continues to bowl along throwing up big priced winners. Stats since 2003 show 582pts profit at SP, from 1561 bets thats 37% Return on Investment at SP! Since I found this system on the 15/11/12 its 38pts up from 108 bets.
You can find selections posted here: http://bettingprofitsbulletin.com/forum/horse-racing-systems/the-punters-sire/ You’ll find the selections posted most mornings or even the night before.
Malcolm’s Lucky 15s
Malcolm has been posting for over a year now on my forum and has fair number of followers for his each way lucky 15s. He bundles “bad each way races” together and the result last year was a ROI around 20%. Follow them here:

You’ll also find other profitable selections on the forum such as the “Top Value” and “5/1+ system”.
American Connection – Free System from Betting School
I don’t post selections from this system but it is incredibly easy to follow and since I got my hands on this system (27/1/2011) its produced a whopping 79.88pts profit at SP from 215 bets, thats 37% ROI. Once you’ve found the selections I’d advise either backing at best price with a Best Odds Guaranteed bookmaker or using Betfair/Betfair SP.
This is a free website offering Lay tips as well as long priced outsiders for backing each way. Its a basic site that throws up a “This site may be comprimised” warning when you google it. But I’ve not had any issues yet, and I think its just because of the amount of bookmaker links the page has. The record from this site is proofed to Racing Index and the overall record is superb. There seems to have been a change of approach from September 2011 when the lays restarted and since then a profit of 54.21 pts at Betfair SP has been generated from 493 selections for a ROI of 11%, which is a very good ROI for laying odds on shots. The site is updated each day there’s no email service or anything like that and its sometimes updated fairly late – around 1pm or later. Check Over22.co.uk.
(from geegeez.com http://www.geegeez.co.uk/category/horse-racing-tips/daily-stat-of-the-day/)
Stat of the Day is a daily column at Matt Bisogno’s GeeGeez website. Its totally free and boasts impressive profit figures since its inception in late 2011. 2013 to date was showing a small loss the last time I checked however this is early days and so far it looks a long term winner. Check the site around 10 or 11 each morning for selections.
Betting Zone Racing – Ben Linfoot
Betting Zone is the tipping section of the SportingLife website and Ben Linfoot’s Value Bet Column is the Sporting Life’s answer to Pricewise of the Racing Post.
This is a big price service that, like Pricewise, has a remit to tip in the big Saturday races and the Festivals such as Ascot and Cheltenham. The difference being that his selections are often posted the evening before. This along with the fact that his tips aren’t as widely known as Pricewise, means you stand a much better chance of getting the prices.
So there we have it, a potful of systems and tipsters that are totally free that boast fully proven and documented track records of profit. 🙂
